Fed: Leaked report did not contain enough evidence: Flint
Australia's broadcasting watchdog says a leaked draft report which found a radio network
breached broadcasting codes was flawed.
Earlier this month the Australian Broadcasting Authority dismissed a complaint that
the Macquarie Radio Network had failed to properly disclose Telstra's sponsorship of the
ALAN JONES radio program.
ABC Television's Media Watch program last night revealed an earlier draft report found
the radio network had breached broadcasting standards.
Authority chairman DAVID FLINT has told ABC radio that the draft report was prepared
by a young lawyer and didn't contain enough evidence to substantiate its conclusions.
Macquarie Radio was yesterday granted an interim injunction in the New South Wales
Supreme Court to prevent the Media Watch story being aired, but the injunction was later
lifted.
